Growing Food. Sharing Meals. Building Community.
Participants have opportunities to learn how to plant, grow, maintain, and harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other foods. Gardening activities can include planting, watering, composting, harvesting, and learning sustainable gardening practices.
A portion of the food grown through the program can be used to provide fresh produce to community members and families who may have limited access to healthy foods. Community gardens are often used to grow food for families as well as to share produce with food pantries and other community organizations.

The kitchen provides a welcoming space where participants can learn how to prepare nutritious meals using fresh ingredients. Cooking activities can include meal preparation, healthy cooking demonstrations, food preparation skills, and opportunities for participants to share recipes and cultural food traditions.
The program provides hands-on opportunities to learn about nutrition, gardening, food preparation, budgeting, healthy eating, and where our food comes from.
Most importantly, the program creates a place for people to come together. Participants can work side-by-side, share knowledge, build relationships, and support one another.

Access to healthy food is about more than simply having something to eat. It is also about having access to fresh ingredients, knowledge, skills, and a supportive community.
Our Community Kitchen & Garden Program connects the entire food journey—from seed to harvest, from harvest to kitchen, and from kitchen to table.
We believe that when people have the opportunity to grow food, prepare food, and share food together, they are also building stronger families and stronger communities.
