Rural families should not have to travel long distances or navigate complicated systems alone to access basic preventive healthcare. The Rural Family Dental & Vision Access Initiative is being developed to bring dental and vision screening opportunities, prevention education, and resource connections closer to families in Hayden and surrounding rural Arizona communities.
Through partnerships with qualified healthcare providers and community organizations, the initiative plans to offer community-based dental and vision screening opportunities, oral health education, prevention resources, and referrals for individuals who need additional care. Resource navigation and follow-up support will help participants identify affordable services and overcome barriers such as transportation, insurance, cost, and limited local provider availability.
The initiative is planned to serve children, adults, and families throughout Hayden, Winkelman, Kearny, Superior, Globe, Miami, Dudleyville, the Aravaipa area, and Mammoth.
Current Status: In development. Roots and Resilience is actively pursuing funding and community partnerships to launch and sustain this initiative.
